Adding more chicks

I have a run that could easily hold more hens but my coop maybe on the small side. I read comments that they cram in together to keep warm could I keep another 3? I already have 3 but thinking about increasing my family

How old are your chickens, and how old are you wanting to get if you decide to get more? If they are still on the smaller side you can get 3 more easily. The thing to keep in mind when putting them in the coop at night is each bird will need about a foot to 16 inches(full grown) when roosting. You also may have a couple that prefer to sleep in the nesting boxes. If that's the case that does give you more room. I have 2 that are almost always broody and live in their nesting boxes, but I'm sure it varies by breed, age, etc. We have a huge area though, so space isn't a concern on our end, just all of my nesting boxes being taken up all the time, lol.
