Adding new chicks

I want to add 3 month olds to my 2 month old pullets ..we have a large run and 12/6 coop ..anyone do this?

Many do it all the time. You should have enough room to make a pen in the coop so the new pullets can get acclimated and the ones you have now acquainted with them. A week or so should be enough time. If you have a large run as well of free range you can just let them mingle after the week.

Thx I did it yesterday .. I let them free range together and they all went nite nite together. Only one bossy butt the light brahma ..I just think she was hungry and was guarding her food .. I hope lol

If she is a food guarder put a second feeder out, and drive her nuts running from one to the other. They can do that with water also.

Thank u that is what I was thinking .. I have them free ranging now to lower the stress they were never outside...so far she is much calmer and happier ..my cochin is bossier today lol

I noticed the 2 flocks are staying separate..how long does that last?

Mine stayed seperate for about 6 weeks. I'm sure it varies though

Ok so they will join up lol omg I feel bad for the new ones they want to run around with the other girls!
