Adding new ducks to flock

Along the lines of this topic, I recently "rescued" two ducks from a neighbor who decided they were too messy. They were Easter purchases at the box farm store. Anyway, one is a drake so I had to separate out my chickens. I kept the new ducks in a different pen, away from but within sight of the established flock for a few weeks. I just put the two new ducks in with my year old Pekins. The Pekins seem timid.

I have three questions right now:

1) How long do you think it will take for the pecking order to be established? The new ducks seem to hog the swimming pool forcing me to put a smaller tub out for the Pekins.

2) Do you think the new ducks will learn to go into the coop at night, like the Pekins do? The previous owner just let them run 24/7.

3) What the heck kind of ducks did I get? (Image below).
The hen is a buff, the drake is a mix breed. Pretty ducks and good luck integrating them with your Pekins.

So far so good on integration. Yesterday the Pekins were gaining access to the pool. The only scuffle was when I tossed some treats in and the buff was getting greedy. And at that she only chased one Pekin away.

At bedtime I found the Pekins already in the coop and the drake on the ramp. He went in voluntarily. The buff seemed a bit confused about how to get to him. I ended up grabbing her up and putting her on the ramp. She then went in and I closed the door.

It is twenty to six o'clock here. Sunup in about 15 minutes. I'll go out in about 45 minutes to feed and water then let them out.

No signs of struggle. LOL Everyone exited the coop in good order. The Pekins (Henriette and Bernadette) came out first, as they know how it works. The drake and buff were cautious but finally figured it out. Everyont trotted down the slope to the taller grass then back up to the pool, water, and food.

I took a video but the file is too large to upload, LOL!

I still have work to do on the coop and run but for now everyone seems to be adjusting.

Anytime you have a video to share you have to put it on you tube or Vimeo first then copy an paste here. That’s great news!! They are becoming a flock
