Hello!!!!

At some point in mid-July I became the crazy chicken lady. I don’t know how it happened. But our planned flock of 10 turned into 14, then 18 and now I have 5 more eggs incubating.
So here’s the deal.....my 18 member flock (I believe consists of 11 pullets and 7 cockerels....but I’m no expert) is about 9 weeks old.
I have 5 eggs incubating and hopefully hatching (but you never count your chickens......) this weekend.
They will live in my brooder for at least 6 weeks which means introducing pesky teenagers to 4 month old chickens.
Is this going to be a disaster? Does anyone have any tips?
Side note- we aren’t keeping all 7 roosters. Only 2.
And 3 of the 5 chicks (should hatching go as planned) will be pullets. The other 2.....we’re gambling.
Thanks in advance!

First off, Welcome to Backyard Chickens!!

Chicken math certainly has taken place :)

With integrating chicks with 16 week olds, you may want to wait till the babies are bigger, before you put them together. When you do decide to put the pullets/cockerels and chicks together, make sure to keep an eye on them well they establish the pecking order.

Also, what makes you think you'll for sure get 3 pullets out of the 5 eggs?

so- if the hatch goes as planned....that is what we will get. ❤️
But....I’m not putting all my eggs in that basket. Lol.
