Adding Supplements to an Automatic Waterer?

I have two separate questions about adding supplements to my automatic watering system. First here is my setup.

My first question is can you add vitamin supplements such as this to this kind of system?

My second question is do you add anything to the water to keep it from getting slimy or getting algae growth?

I use the powder form from tractor supply it's vitamins and electrolytes, turns the water a yellowish tinge and no problems with the horrizontal nipples, it took them a little while to get accustomed to the taste I think it has a tart taste like Gatorade. If you keep the bucket out of the sun you should be ok. If you add it and the tank keeps refilling it will dilute it down to nothing, you might have to shut off the automatic water.
