Adding to flock of white silkies -does color matter

I think it would be best to keep the little birds in one coop. And the 6 standards in another coop, and split the eggs.

It can be quite tricky to blend birds of different sizes.

Just wanted to follow up: I combined the flocks slowly while the black stars were still young and small. The silkies asserted dominance immediately (not too aggressive) they combined pretty smoothly; the black stars are huge now, but everyone gets along swimmingly and the silkies are top of the pecking order Thanks for all the advice!
