Adopt a soldier is a program that links a soldier from overseas to anywhere in the world, you can be penpals and send them packages. I just got my soldier today after a few days of waiting and I can't wait to start writing! Some soldiers don't have anyone to write to let alone anyone to send them anything. I think it's an amazing idea.

I just adopted one. Just think, if 5% of BYCers did this there'd be a whole lot of happy soldiers! I spend a whole lot of money here buying eggs. So this week I'm gonna buy one less batch of them, and send my soldier a box of goodies in thanks for allowing me to sit here at my home safely, and keep my chickens.

My Girl Scout troop adpoted a soldier last year and had a blast writing letters to her. We also took up a huge collection and shipped almost 100 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to her to share with her unit. They mailed back pics of all of them eating them!!!

this is a good program...my son is active duty...things like this program always mean a lot to the young kids away from home in the country and more so over seas...thanks for thinking of them all of you...
