I have fallen in love with these beautiful black feathered birds. The roo has a big, hearty crow and the hens have a sweet sounding cluck. The original owners had to move and were not able to take their beloved chicks with them. I haven't been able to talk with them to find out what they are. Nothing seems to match up on the internet either. I gotthem on Sun. and so far I have collected 2 eggs per day. 1 lg. brown and 1 sm. creamy white egg. The last 2 days there has been a small crack/hole in the brown egg. They seem very shy. They have only been herefor 3 days so I'm sure they are still a little shaken. I'm looking forward to watching them.

Nice that they are giving you eggs....they must be happy in their new home.
If you are able to post pictures you will get help identifying the breeds. The majority of my flock are black feathered too (Australorps and EE`s) and we love them.
Good luck with your chickens. Are you a first time chicken owner?
