Adopted by a turkey

Hello All,
About 4 months ago a Turkey, now known as Mr. Wattles, adopted our family. He showed up on our deck and day 1 we couldn't make him leave. He drove our dog crazy and didn't care how loud the noise was we made, or how much water we sprayed at him(DNR recommendations)he had decided the deck was his and there he remains today. The dog got used to him after 2 days and stopped barking, lol. He has only left 2 times since ge came, first to take a walk in the back wood(gone overnight and showed back up midmorning. The 2nd time his owner came and took him away(4 days after he showed up) and he was back by morning.
We have tried making him a house(turned a shed into a coup with good and water and a perch) but he refuses to go in it. He won't go anywhere besides the deck unless we are out in the yard, then he follows us everywhere. He even walked down the aisle with me at our wedding and back up with my husband and I. All the guests(about 105) did not bother him at all.
I am not sure how to take care of a turkey or what to do for him. Looking forward to learning some things from you all.

Some animals prefer to be outside. My original chickens roost on the deck railing, and about half the younger ones sleep on the coop instead of in it. The only bird I can think of that consistently sleeps in the coop is Lightning, because she has a wing deformity and can’t fly.

Because you have a turkey and not a chicken, I would recommend feeding high protein gamebird food.
