Adopted Chickens

Our neighbors got some chickens earlier this year but, they decided it was a little too much for them to handle. They asked us if we wanted them. We are still making plans for Sussex chickens in the spring but, we are super excited to have this cute little group. I could use some help for the breeds. I know I have 1 Buff Orpington, I have another one (not pictured) that I think is a cross between a silkie and a BO. I have been told that some of these may be Austraulorps. Any clarification that can be offered would be great. I have 2 Roos & 5 Hens.

You have too many roosters for that amount of hens, that is why the lavender is half bald. I would recommend getting more hens, or rehoming one of the roosters... very cute group of Cochins!

Thank you. This helps me very much. I know I need to consider sending one of my Roosters on. We are loving our little group of chickens and it is fun to know what they are.

Cochibs are pretty mellow birds. If the roosters are not fighting I would source more females.

But then I AM a chicken math enabler.
