Well, im actually buying him, but I call it "adopting"... Anywho, im adopting a new ancona drake into the flock tomarrow!

! So excited! My ancona hen is gonna be THRILLED! Gonna put him and her in their own little pen till spring so they bond

This drake is coming from AuroraSprings lines. I love her anconas markings

so pretty! He will be Well worth the money!

heres a question! Would puting him and the hen in a differnt pen then the others help them bond and want to be with eachother most of the time? They will be away from the flock till after spring.

Ducks can bond, but if they are in a mixed flock they can and will cross breed. Ducks are frisky little rascals.

EDIT: Aurora springs drake looks fab! I dont think I will need to seperate! He looks as healthy as a HORSE!

Ducks tend to bond to their flock instead of to individuals. They don't pair-mate bond like geese will sometimes do.

So, yes, they will bond to each other. But they will not form a couple and forsake all others. So if you want purebred eggs, your plan of a separate pen is the only way to do it.

I'm looking forward to photos of this new drake.
