Ador vs ChickenGuard vs Omlet door

I’ve had - Chicken Guard since last August .
Iniatially had an issue with not opening/ closing.
Their service group was Very Helpful.
They helped “ troubleshoot “ over the phone from England.
Conclusion was - motor was bad.
Sent replacement, received in 3 days.
Has been working great since then - Have not replaced
batteries as of yet.

We have had the Ador automated door installed for over 3 years maybe 4 at this point. Easy to install. It's a little effort to change the settings. I had to re-download the manual last year to make an adjustment but it was no problem to do so. I love the late arrival feature that reopens the door to late any let arrivals in.

I go through 1 battery every 6 months. There is a solar option. I have it mounted on the outside of the coop facing the setting sun. I use the optical sensor to open and close the door.

I have never had a problem with the door opening or closing until the blizzard this week. On top of more than 12 inches of snow there was a period of ice in the middle of the storm. It managed to fill the groves and prevented the door from opening all the way. It still opened, just not all the way. I have a covered porch on the side with the door and the door track extends through the porch roof. The roof enabled the snow and ice to accumulate and therefore fill the groove. I can't see this being a problem without the porch roof. Here is my setup.

The cleared roof with the door open. You can see how it extends through the roof. Bad design on my part.

Overall I highly recommend this door. It has made the flock much safer. It always closes on time, my wife and me not so much.

Would love to hear your opinion if you have any of these automatic doors. I’ve narrowed my selection down to these three because they are reliable according to reviews, they can be programmed, and aesthetics. I’ll be installing it into hardware cloth, so I’ll make a frame. Not sure if I can do this with the Chicken Guard. I saw that I can with the other two. Thoughts?

I’m very happy with the Omlet door. I’m using the light sensor feature and only once had a pullet stranded in the secure run.

I ordered the grey Omlet door in Jan 2021 as it was in stock..
I was notified it will not arrive until the end of March! Good grief.

This is the one I installed (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0828CZVL7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). My prerequisites were a motorized screw opening and closing mechanism and a light sensor. I've had it all winter and so far, it's worked flawlessly and you can't beat the price. I installed mine on the outside (and this is AC powered), but the whole coop is under a 12' X 18' clear vinyl hoop house with 1/2 of the south side end open to the orchard.

I know...Right?
March!!!! Good Grief.
I hope its worth my wait.
Fingers are crossed.

I ordered an Omlet door in gray last August, and it was scheduled to ship in late October! I needed the door sooner, so changed my order to green which was in stock. I love the door, it has worked perfectly. I use the light sensor and have had no problems. I also got the add-on LED light which is controlled from the control panel, and it has come in handy.

You could always paint the door if you hate the green. There are good spray paints for plastic!

They said the grey was In Stock.
Now, I think not. Lol
Oh well, March is around the corner. I'm glad to hear you like it.
I'm more egg-cited to get it now. Lol

After reading this thread I ordered the Ardor at 2 am last night. I already have a shipping notification. I added on the extended external pushbutton but didn't see any option for a solar panel. Where might I find one that is compatible?
