Our two adult chickens are not laying eggs. One is a SLW and is 4 years old, and the other is a BR and is 3. We recently had a horrible carnage during the night.
Two got killed, and adult and a pullet. The carnage was about one month ago, so the hens probably aren't still traumatized. We feed them Purina Layer pellets.
We more recently built a run, rather then let them run around the yard, so maybe we could find the eggs, but still no eggs. Could they be eating their eggs? We never ever had this as a problem, so I doubt that. Could something be going in and eating the eggs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Joe

I would say that they are getting to the age where they are going to slow down alot. The most productive years are the first 2 years.

It could take a couple of weeks for a stressed bird to go back to normal.
