We call her our $5,000 Duck. My husband says her street name is "5 K Keisha"I just read through this thread. What an incredible saga! You are some wonderful people and that is one special duck!
I have just read your story and what a tense read it was! My heart was in my mouth wondering if she would be ok, but what a fantastic outcome! So happy for youShe's doing great! She's gained her weight back (we weigh her each morning), her stitches have healed well (she gets them removed next week, along with getting her remaining lupron injections... goodbye, money!), and she is running so fast I can barely catch up to her. She's still indoors every night and comes inside midday to rest in a soft dog bed. She seems to be molting again, though. Feathers everywhere.
Wondering if it's because we're preventing her from laying with the implant and lupron. She seems happy, though. Back to her normal, bossy self.
