Keisha has an implant paired with lupron injections that last for 6-9 months per dose (Keisha needed 11 doses, which costs nearly $2k on its own, so our vet decided to use the implant combined with 6 doses for now, and we are most likely getting the remaining doses in 3 weeks... goodbye money.
).
Everything aside, for anyone who wants or needs to do this for their duck or hen, it's not cheap but for us (and Keisha) it's been worth it.
She's moving slowly still but eating and drinking. Limping a bit, but she has the implant, stitches, and also received today's injections at the vet without sedatives... for her safety.
She spends the next 2 weeks inside relaxing and being pampered. She's not allowed to be near the boys (trying to keep her body from instinctively wanting to lay eggs and fighting the meds).
We DID let her into the yard for 5 minutes, though, to walk in the grass and say hello to the boys after nearly a week without them. The boys went nuts and ran in circles, so excited. Keisha just wanted to forage. Lol
Will share the vet's info tomorrow.
Thanks again for staying with us for this crazy journey!
