I"m just wondering how long I have to rehome the adult rooster before things get messy.. I want to keep the baby one (we thought he was a hen when we bought him) and don't want him hurt by the adult rooster. Currently the adult rooster is treating the baby like his offspring, but I understand when the baby reaches puberty it will be looked at like a rival, I'm just wondering how long that is? Their coop is about 4x8 with a height of 4, I don't have anywhere I could separate the adult from the rest.

Welcome!
It's good that you have adults with your cockerel, because they will help raise him to be a polite adult himself. It's way to soon to know if this youngster will be a 'keeper' or not, and if your adult rooster is a good guy, don't be in a hurry to move him on.
Two roosters with only two hens will very likely not work out well, because even if the boys get along, they will be just too much for only two hens.
There's no one correct answer here, just go along and see how things progress.

Thank you for your feedback! So far they all get along pretty well and now I'm no longer worried. I just wanted to make sure my cockerel won't get hurt. I'm very new at raising chickens, I've only had them for a few days.
