I'll have an AK-47 within the next year, hopefully, but right now I'm practicing with the .22. Pretty accurate, and no recoil.

Between you and me, I think CR is totally nuts.

no, i'm outsane. you are lucky! i only got a daisy BB gun

but soon moving on to .22!

& hopfully some day an AR-15!

Which brings up the eternal rivalry... Kalashnikov's super-reliable, ultra tough, cheap ($450 for a typical AK), and powerful (7.62 mm) short range (300 yards or less) killin' machine vs the US-made, not-quite-as-tough, not as powerful (5.56 mm), MUCH longer range (800 yards or less), super-expensive ($1500 and up) AR-15.

I, personally, favor the Kalashnikov.

As does any red-blooded American. IMO, we've got marksmanship in our blood. I personally wouldn't mind having an AR, but the AK is much closer to my price range, and in my humble opinion, is more practical for my area. It's not likely that I'll ever encounter open spaces greater than 300 yards or so here in NC, unless I'm in a cornfield or something.

Of course, if you get high ground with an AR, you can probably out-range any other combat rifle.
