I had a dozen call ducklings hatch, then that night the power went off...for a week.
Our home is all electric. Lost three and two Runner ducklings hatched yesterday. Mom to 11 ducklings-what fun!

The losses could have been a lot worse. Many hundreds of people lost their homes, family members, or their lives in the storms and tornados. I lost 3 ducklings and 3 chicks with no damage done to our home and land; very lucky indeed! But it was not fun trying to keep the babies warm with no power.

Oh, tornadoes cause the power to go out? I just thought it went out.

The local substation was hit and three of the big transformers exploded. Much of our county had no power for several days.
