Advice needed for my rooster and hen with controlled reproduction.

. One of my favourite domestic pigs. If you are having computer troubles then that's ok. I know we had trouble once and i lost all of my pictures.

Wow-you raise a lot animals eh! Very nice. Yes, the meat at the grocery store is generally not humanely raised. Plus less healthy. In fact, you do not even need to eat meat. But for those who do, it is great that you raise them yourself and with such care. You make cheese too. Wow. So do you work full time on your farm. I love being self-sufficient. I grow my own garden and now have eggs. When i was in Peru in the Andes mountains, you can see they have all their farm animals wandering about. Pigs and chickens crossing the road. We bought cheese from a lovely Inca woman who made her own. Probably her livlihood. It was good too. $5.00 for a HUGE piece.

I understand where you are coming from on this, but I have a question. What about when you travel? What if you stay with someone who doesn't share your sentiments about grocery store meat? What if you're too far from home to return for your meal. Not trying to be rude, I'm genuinely curious.

No worries I welcome questions

What about when you travel? I have 4 siblings who have 12 teenage children between them. They are more than willing to come and feed in the morning and at night for me for a bit of spending cash as long as I leave them instructions for how to do it.

What if you stay with someone who doesn't share your sentiments about grocery store meat? Everyone is welcome to their own opinion I will not force mine on others. My husband is okay with eating meat from the store but after tasting the home grown meat products the taste is so much better. The eggs have more flavor and the meat actually has flavor and isn't bland. Also there is very little fat on the meat so it's healthier. I also have a son who has had a transplant so having meat I know is fresh and not contaminated is important to our family as well.

What if you're too far from home to return for your meal. If I can't eat at home then I eat vegetarian but that's just me. Pretty much everyone in my family has farm raised so that's safe. Going out to other places I would get a salad or something along those lines rather than meat products just because I would rather not eat the meat. One of my favorites at a restaurant is french onion soup which is not very expensive and always if I get that I am too full to eat what they bring me for dinner lol it's a win win.

Thank you for your reply, LilyD. I never thought of going to vegetarian route when eating out, that is really interesting. It would definitely avoid the problem of eating commercial meat.

Wishing your son many healthy years ahead of him.
