This is my first time hatching eggs. We have four duck eggs in the incubator. Last week we candled for the first time, and saw amazing life-it was cool. Yesterday we noticed one of the eggs was darker than the rest (the whole egg). Why do you thing this is happening?

A local breeder said that they usually hatch at 29 days. So I set the incubator at 99.5 and 68-70% (bc she said they need high humidity). Today the incubator said we have 10 days left. I attached three eggs so you can see the difference.

So the exterior shell of the egg is darker? Or the inside when candled? Does the egg smell at all?
