Advice needed

I agree you need to set boundries with this guy, but the cool thing is, you have the upper hand. He needs you, you don't need him. If he isn't willing to respect your business and your schedule, ditch him. If he is willing to meet your new fees and your schedule, you might as well keep up with working for him. He had his business, which he got rich from, he should be able to understand that you have a business, that you don't work for him except as a favor and you don't need him. Some people just push until they've determined the limit, and then they back off.

Tell you you charge triple to work during the holiday season. Or whatever would make it WAY worth your While to do it. Then let him decide.

Trish, all these people on byc are not wrong...tell him you are not able to continue working for him and leave it at that. Do not argue with him. He is destroying your self esteem and tearing you apart. You are wasting too much time defending yourself to us...that shows me he is working on you!! Stand up for yourself!!! You don't have to be hateful or mean. Just say, you no longer can continue and DROP IT.............I MEAN DROP IT AND DON'T DISCUSS IT AGAIN WITH HIM. HE WILL FIND SOMEONE ELSE.

I'd rinse his mouth out with some of your soap(LOL) as he was blowing bubbles, I'd tell him that for what he was paying you it is not worth the drive! Then I'd tell him you work according to your schedule and if that was not good enough for him, he could find someone else! And as far as the rude phone calls.........no way!!!!!!!!! I'd tell him one time if it doesn't stop he'd find himself in court!

Trisha,

Like many here have said, if your willing to continue doing things for the mean old fart, set your schedule the way you want it, set how much you will charge to do his bidding, and charge him a "Mean Old Fart Tax", each time he is mean or an ass to you charge him $5. Let him know this is the way its going to be from now on. If he doesn't want to do it your way, send him this link....
