But, He's not addicted or anything and I have no issues with this, it's just nosey people sticking their nose in and saying some really nasty stuff, but he's just not like that. It's hard to explain him

But, as my dad's and alcoholic and as was my grandfather and my great-grandfather. It just runs. Being his only child, I have a family reputation to hold. Not that I care, but I'm the only reason people dn't disregard my family as trash, and I'm worried that blabbermouths would start spreading things if we where together.

There are guys that you don't have to defend. Dad is right, he would be a better friend than boyfriend. Learn NOW that you can't fix people. Find one that doesn't need it.
