Sadly I am going to be getting new chicks because of a predator loss. I have only two hens left. I have gone through my mourning, somewhat. While I am getting new chicks I really want to look for those that can withstand the heat. It got to 112 for days this summer! The choices at the feed store are:

Speckled Sussex
Wyandottes
Buff Orpington
RIR
Jungle Fowl (not sure about this one?)

Thanks for any advice you can offer. Have not had any of these breeds in the past.

First, feedstores don't sell real Junglefowl.

They claim to, just as their supplying hatcheries, but they're just skinny chickens that resemble such, likely with Gamefowl in them to get that behavior going.

However they will indeed tolerate heat well, same with the Wyandottes and RIR's.

Normally - Orpingtons, Sussex, and Wyandottes wouldn't handle heat as well as Junglefowl and Wyandottes - But hatcheries tend to breed birds to make them all about the same, so honestly, I'd say sample what you want
