advice on fencing for two turkeys?

It all depends on if you raise broad-breasted or heritage, if you will be clipping wings, if yo uwant them to free range on grass or is dirt OK.etc. I don't mean to be short, but how you fence depends on how you want to raise your birds. I have about 1/3 acre fenced for 15 to 25 turleys. They have grass all year, plus trees for shade. The fence is 6 ft chicken wire with a skirt to prevent diggin, all surrounded by electric fence. We have bobcats! You can keep two birds in a 4 by 8 cage if you want. It all depends...

Sorry I can't be more help without more details.

sorry i didnt give more info.im just now getting started and have a lot to learn.the area i plan to keep them in is fairly grassy, and partialy shaded.
as far as the type of bird,im still not sure.like i said,i still have a lot to learn, and that includes about the diffrent types of turkeys.

If you are planning to raise them for meat then build an enclosed run about 8x8 with a nice roost. they will be fine with that but it will get smelly if you do not keep it clean. Depending on where you live you might want to put sand down as a floor or pine shavings, hay, leaves, etc all work well. I used to keep mine caged when i was not outside and let them come out when i went out to sit with them and they would always go back to the cage with a little herding. i now let them roost in the trees and tehy stay in my back yard about 95% of the time. Every one is a little different, I have one bird that loves to checkout the front yard by jumping the fence. I used to round him up, now i just let him be as he always comes back when im feeding. WARNING: TURKEYS ARE ADDICTIVE!!!

have fun with them.

for mature type birds, fencing materials with 2x4 inch opening will work out great. Turkeys are big, strong birds, and welded wire, chicken wire, or hardward cloth really shouldn't be used.

For young birds, it doesn't take very long for the 2x4 inch wire to work either.

For me, I really love chain link fencing, or 2x6 inch opening panels. The 2x6 inch panels are old corn crib sides. I've got some 2x4 inch twisted wire, that works great as well, but is the most expensive.

ok,saturday i bought two 6 week old bourbon reds.i have also set up a six foot high 12 foot x 8 foot chainlink pen with a top on it.
im starting them out with purina high protine growmash.this was what the guy i bought them from recomended.
im not sure if i got a pair, two male or two female.how old are they normaly when you can tell?
