My daughter is new to 4H but really interested in trying to hatch bantam and serama eggs. She got a Little Giant still air incubator for xmas and tried one hatch of RIR/BR eggs (local) with a hatch of only 2 of 12.
She's saved up some money so I just ordered her some mille fleur eggs to be shipped from several states away. Can someone give us a detailed step- by-step on what to do as soon as we get them for the best chance to hatch some. (don't they have to set a day or 2? And candle to check air cell before incubate?) I understand shipped eggs have less hatch rate than local and our incubator isn't the best on the market but I'd like her to have the best chance possible before we try serama eggs (I hear they are harder to hatch and have noticed they cost more.)
