Advice/opinion please? WARNING MAY UPSET SOME

Tenneesse; Actually I do save my chickens, or should I say their eggs, I have blown out all my hens first eggs, I have about 10 in a bowl on my table.
To each his own right?

I'm so sorry you lost your Daisy.

I would put her in the freezer too, especially since you have the extra freezer. I have buried mine in my vegetable garden. Poor babies.

BTW where are you in NJ? we got swamped with snow - a record 34 inches in one snowfall! We also have 5 foot drifts.......and I think they are predicting more in a few days

Oh the snow, I live by the water and we got hammered, drifts toward my house over 5 feet, I could not leave the house for 4 days.

I live in Lake Rivera towards Toms River. I used to live right off Mantoloking Rd. I was driving home from work a couple of weeks ago (work in Spring Lake) and went down Mantoloking to get home and saw a flock of chickens alongside the road (right after the bridge) so I turned around to get a closer look and there were 8 roosters all hanging out together. Beautiful birds, but I think they were dump offs.

I have a friend in Mays Landing and her neighbors have chickens. I haven't been there yet to visit, but I believe Lanoka Harbour is close by?

There's a HUGE redtailed hawk hanging around here and with this snow, our birds are easy targets.............mine will just have to make do in their secure run. 76 more days til spring.

Ihave been to Lake Riviera I know where that.

I went to Vineland and the shops thre have roosters all running around they were beautiful and they told me if I can catch one I could have it.
I do not live in the country so I had to pass.

I live about 35 minutes from you.

Thanks, You can fill them with plaster of Paris if you need fake eggs when yours do not know where to lay theirs. but if they tend to egg pick it is not a good idea.
