Aerial predator big enough to fly off with a 10+ lb peahen???

I'm a native Floridian and we do not have any raptor here that could carry off a grown peahen. Kill one, yes, but not fly off with it.

I'm with the folks who say it was probably a raccoon. Possibly a bobcat, but most likely a coon.

Introduced exotics are another matter entirely, but I'd still go with a coon short of new evidence.
 
Only night bird would be an owl. Plus ospreys and eagles prefer fish but would take a bird if hungry.
I would suspect a mammal in the following order. Opossum, Raccoon, bobcat, cougar, weasel.
Possums hit me right at dusk and are very strong, good climbers and love chicken.
