AFFIRMATIVE NEWCASTLE BRONCHITIS

I am sorry but I am a bit confused.

Your bird is ill, you took it to the vet, vet tested the bird and confirmed the bird has Newcastle disease (ND)??
Or you took your bird to the vet and the vet doesn't know much about birds so he wasn't quite sure what the bird has but the bird is obviously sick?

You cannot diagnose a disease for sure without testing. MG testing can be unreliable, but poultry labs can usually tell with a necropsy after death. The twisted neck with a respiratory disease is what makes it sound more serious. If you Google exotic Newcastles Disease in chickens, most links including Merck Vet Manual says that it is usually found in other countries, not in US.

I was wondering if your vet was going to treat her with antibiotics for her respiratory disease? Or does he recommend putting her down? I had pointed out that ND is a virus, but since it could be MG or others, then an antibiotic might be used.

He doesn't have the knowledge

He said that his idea is that
Yes the hen is obviously ill
