Afraid of first snow...too cold....something else?

Mine still will not come out in snow (even 1/2" is nope nope nope) so I either shovel pathways around the run to give them some outside space, and/or toss bagged dried leaves to form non-snow pathways. The dried leaves are less work but of course not optimal if snow continues to fall.

Does this sound like typical first snow jitters for chickens?
Yep.
Might want to shovel out part of the run, and spread a thin layer of shavings or straw so they will walk on it.
Think about how you're going to deal with the feet of snow that is likely on it's way.
I keep part of my run shoveled out, use sand when it gets icy, and a path all along run so I can keep mesh roof clear when snow starts sticking.
Yeah, it's PITA, but you'll be glad come snow melt season.
