After a hen submits to the Roo.... how long before she starts laying

I know, odd newbie question! I have a hen that was raising some chicks but submitted to the roo the other night... does that mean she will start laying again soon? Chicks are about 4 wks old. Thanks!

I don't know about a hen having chicks (haven't done that yet), but my rooster has been mating my 23 and 21 week old pullets, so I figure they're a week or 2 from laying. (

blue eggs and Marans eggs!!!!!

) I would imagine it's the same for a hen that has raised chicks.

Well the answer to the question is she laid an egg yesterday!
