After Christmas I would like to do a block swap. Update first post

I've been MIA a bit, but I've been watching and I've gotten one under my belt. Seems to come together pretty easily and shouldn't take me long after I work a few things out.
I am a little concerned about a couple of things.

I hope that my fabric choices were ok. Here are some links with pictures of swatches. I can't find my camera cable to upload my finished block, but I REALLY like it. The fabric was more than I usually spend, so if the general consensus is that these fabrics weren't a good choice for this swap, I'll gladly get something else and save these for another project with no hard feelings.

Here's a link to the navy-
http://www.buttonholeshop.com/cgi-images/image_display.cgi?account=buttonhole&image=floral21.gif and the other http://www.dakotacabinquilts.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi?cart_id=6433425.5666.s0&product=aazaleatrail&productid=atra224ne&sales=0&lastmenu=

Also
, when I was laying out my 4 strips (before assembling), the middle two had a slight bow in them and I think this is what threw off my finished size a tad.
Did anyone else notice this? Would it have to do with pressing the seams toward the darker fabric instead of alternating them like the top and bottom strips? Anyone understand what I'm trying to explain? Anyone....?

Please let me know about the fabric now before I do any more today. Also, it was decided to NOT pre-wash, right?
I usually do, but I thought I read on a post that we weren't so that it would pucker nicely. Is that right?

Thanks!

I was thinking of you SE and I thought if you wanted where the flying geese are you could make half square triangles.

I think that I'll have better luck doing them this way too.

make seem allouances smaller and cut squares larger than required, then you have room to square up and cut down to size, alway better to be too big than too small.
your fabric choices look greate

Ok, thanks for the triangle tip and checking the fabric for me!
I've made lots of quilts before, but I'm a bit nervous since I'm passing out my work to experienced quilters! That's quite different than giving a finished quilt as a present to someone who doesn't sew! I'll be relieved when I'm all done and they're in the mail!

Back to work....
I'll post a picture of a block if I can find my SD card.

QuailQT I'm not experienced. This is my first project and it has been an interesting one. Still working and I hope that when you all get yours, you will say OH WELL SHE HAS TOO LEARN. HEE HEE. Well I am scared too death but I am working on it. I am learning also.

Who here is so experienced that we don't make any mistakes? Me neither. You go ahead QuailQT and do those blcoks to the absolute best of your ability and I will certainly be happy with that. I am by far no expert but when you try hard you get it done. Plus, you'll be the only one that notices the mistakes. Also, mistakes is what makes a quilt a quilt.

Love the fabric by the way
