I've been MIA a bit, but I've been watching and I've gotten one under my belt. Seems to come together pretty easily and shouldn't take me long after I work a few things out.
I am a little concerned about a couple of things.
I hope that my fabric choices were ok. Here are some links with pictures of swatches. I can't find my camera cable to upload my finished block, but I REALLY like it. The fabric was more than I usually spend, so if the general consensus is that these fabrics weren't a good choice for this swap, I'll gladly get something else and save these for another project with no hard feelings.

Here's a link to the navy-

Also, when I was laying out my 4 strips (before assembling), the middle two had a slight bow in them and I think this is what threw off my finished size a tad.
Did anyone else notice this? Would it have to do with pressing the seams toward the darker fabric instead of alternating them like the top and bottom strips? Anyone understand what I'm trying to explain? Anyone....?

Please let me know about the fabric now before I do any more today. Also, it was decided to NOT pre-wash, right?
I usually do, but I thought I read on a post that we weren't so that it would pucker nicely. Is that right?
Thanks!
