After-Treatment of Sour Crop

I have a 8-9 week old Cornish Cross that has sour crop. I gave her red wine to treat it and it is almost gone. The question that I have is- What should I feed her when she is completely better? What I had done was I had noticed the sour crop when she was pretty young, but wasn't sure what it was. After a few weeks it still hadn't disappeared so I did my research and found out what it was. I immediately treated her with a dropper full of red wine and took away water and food. This morning I went out and it had shrunk. I gave her another dropper full and then a few hours later I gave her some water with a tiny bit of ACV. I wanted to wait to give her food until it was better to make sure that I don't cause more compaction and yeast growth. When she is better I don't want to give her something to fast and cause her to get sick or something. Thanks for reading this! If you have an answer please comment below.:)

First and foremost... :welcome! I hope that you enjoy this site as much as the rest of us do! I have learned SOOO much from this site, and hope you do too!:love

Secondly, you should be okay to go ahead and put food in for her, and she will eat when she is hungry/ready. Animals tend to stop eating when there is something wrong, but if you put food in there and she is eating it, she should be fine. I would keep her up on constant food and water, mixing the ACV in her water. If you are concerned with her eating to much at a time, you could put little amounts at a time, insuring she's okay after every feeding time.

Hope this helps! Good luck!:thumbsup

Thank you so much for your reply! This site is amazing and I am enjoying it so far. The only reason that I took the food out in the first place is because Cornish crosses(or at least mine) have no self-control when it comes to food. They seem to always be eating something. I just don't wan't it to get any worse. If you think she will be fine then I'll try it out and keep an eye on her. Once again, Thank you for replying so quickly.:)
