again with the happy new year!

A little less than a year ago I got the hare-brained scheme to have some chickens, inspired by a casual acquaintance of mine, and my boyfriend was kind enough to be enthusiastic. Moreover, the people who make up this forum were equally positive, and with all I learned from lurking here I've been moderately successful with our first 4 hens. Eggs most days, no major problems so far, and all the good things that come from re-connecting with something real and vital.
So thank you thank you to all who contribute to BYC, and a most happy, healthy and egg-y 2010!

Happy new year, fargosmom! My hubby would give his right eye to be where you are. He is Jacksonville, FL born and raised and desires to be anywhere else but here. But ..... since our grandbabies are here, I'm not moving! I like the (most of the time) warm and green world I live in. Love to visit you all sometime, though!
