Against all odds, and they were bad, they are hatching!! Now with pic!

Wow, that is fantastic!

I agree that it's important to post when things go wrong, and update the outcomes (good or bad). When I had my huge temp spike I searched for it on BYC, and while there were posts with my same issue, rarely did I find the outcomes. So, thanks for keeping us all updated, others will now think twice before automatically tossing eggs when these issues arise, like I almost did.

Lol, gotta find a working camera in this house. Why is it when you need something the batteries are always all dead.

DS said I could get his and use it. We are up to 10 little peepers now, wow with one more most of the way out of the shell.

Never give up hope on those eggs, my husband says even nature isn't perfect.

Maybe I should offer out some of these hen's eggs. They seem to be pretty gosh darn ruggid. They even may make it through postal abuse

Here is one pic of the amazing babies. These were from eggs that were collected from my hens while I was on vacation for 1 1/2 weeks and refridgerated. We were going to eat them, but I figured I have an incubator why not give a bash. What would be the harm, so I would be out a few omelets. Add a couple of serious temp drops to the recipe and voila...... babies.

We are up to ten out of the shell and in the brooder, a few more still make noise in the shell so we shall see.

Now I just have to figure out how to sex the wellie babies,

My luck, I have a rooster only incubator

Chick count as of 1 a.m. Monday......drum roll.......15 hatched. That is a 50% hatch rate. Woohoo. I plan to leave the remainder of eggs in a couple of more days, in case we have some late developers related to the horrible conditions. For a hatch that I didn't expect to happen at all, we have some cute little fuzzies to nuzzle. So that is nice.
