age differences between you and your significant other!!!!!

I'm 20, my BF is 19. We are 1 1/2 yrs apart. It is a little weird because he is 1 1/2 yrs older than my brother. We have been together 4 yrs and luckily he adores all of my animals (all 35 of them). He loves the chickens too, and always helps me with the latest project I want. I think I've trained him well.

My mom had painters at the house last semester and I'm a commuter so I was hanging out around the house. The one guy asked me why I was not in school and I told him I didn't have a class today. He said he thought I was a sophomore in high school, so I look 4yrs younger than I really am I guess.

My DH is 22 months younger than me... he lets me know it too, in a fun way of course. He likes to tell everyone that I robbed the cradle.

I love that quote about robbing the cradle rather than the grave!

I am 3 yrs 11 months younger than my wife. Nobody really said anything about our age difference. They were more concerned about the fact that we met for the first time on a thursday and were married the following friday(yes, eight days later). Everyone told us it would never last and they may be right but this the first marriage for both of us and we have been married 14 yrs as of may. Hard to believe she has put up with me that long.

I am impressed with those of you who are attracted to those much older or younger than yourself. I have never found much physical attraction for anyone who was more than 10 years my senior (or junior, now that I'm getting into my 30's, and even those under 25 don't do much for me). I think I may be shallow....I just can't imagine dating or marrying someone I wasn't physically attracted to.

I guess I should note that DH and I have been married 14 years and I still think he's the hottest thing going, so maybe I'm not THAT shallow.

I'm 40, and my husband is 33..when we had our youngest my husband was 24 and I was 31. Right now there is only 7 years difference, but after my birthday its 8 years. I don't care and neither does Hubby. Other people did, but not as much anymore. He is amazing and I love him!

Yay Chicks! :

My partner is 13 years younger than me. I think it's great to have someone who can still remember where we parked the car in the lot

Well I think there are differences in the era's between each of you growing up, music, movies, politics, ect. I was married to a gal 15 years younger than myself, Wow what a difference. Had to work out 3 times a week and do lots of vitamins. I was pretty much half way into a career that I enjoyed and wasnt probably going to change much and she was just getting through with her BA degree and starting her masters. Belief systems may also be seperated by era's.
Someone who seems so right at the time can be quite abit different in 7 to 10 years down the road. Age changes one's wants needs and importances. After you get past a certain age some things just arent at the hieght of our drive and may still be to the younger person envolved. The younger person is still wanting to try all the crud weve already done and know we dont want to do again.
We have to look at 10 and 15 years away sometimes and not just at the "here and now" and "in the Moment". If you truly care about that someone special then go for it. its up to you to please yourself and not worry about pleasing others. Also remember that when your 57 then he's 91...
Incidently the gal that was 15 years younger than me got her masters, became a body builder, and found the younger guy with the better paycheck ....God Bless you and yours..

I am now married to a wonderful gal 7 years older than me.

We met over the phone and lived cross country from each other. He made plans to move to where I was and proposed before we had ever even seen each other. I of course couldn't say yes until we had met in person! lol! We've been married 11yr and together 12 and longer than anyone in his family has ever been married!

My BF is 7 years and 7 months older than me! I won't specify our ages when we started dating, suffice it to say that it wasn't necessarily quite legal...

But we'd been friends for a couple years and I finally got tired of trying to convince myself I wasn't in love with him, so I 'fessed up and we've been just about as happy as two people can be for over 5 years now. We got a little bit of crap from people, but we live in a very tight knit community and everyone knows what an exceptionally good guy my BF is, plus it was pretty obvious that we were meant to be, so most everyone just let it go. My parents were of the opinion that they'd rather see me with a really good, sweet, mature guy then some trashy 17-year-old that was going to treat me like crap and dump me in the end. I've always been an early adopter (as my dad says); I starter working at 14, graduated high school and started college at 16, and so on, and my friends have always been older, so it only made sense that I would date an older guy. I think it's all about mental maturity and compatibility; age is only a number after all. I do love to tease him about being an old man and remind him that he'll be 30 any second now though! (It's really a few years off still)
