AGE & GENDER?

I see one Lavender Orpington cockerel but watch the other one. @Cryss thought she had a pullet and cockerel and turned out to be a cockerel
Yes, I had 2 Lavender Orpingtons that were supposed to be pullets. One very quickly was recognized as a cockerel. Didn't want a cockerel. Traded him in. The other took several more weeks before he crowed and a couple weeks after that before his hackles and saddle feathers actually grew in. He started out looking like a scruffy pullet. Now he looks like a handsome boy! Yes, I kept him because he was my favorite since day one. He got a bit feisty when hormones first hit him. We corrected him a few times and now he's coming around. So I had 2 cockerels in my original flock. If you can't keep a rooster it shouldn't be difficult to rehome a Lavender Orpington Cockerel.

what is wrong?
It's a Cockerel :hit I can't have any here, I live in a residential area and no Roos :barnie

oh, do you not want a cockerel????

I LOVE ORPINGTONS & the lavender is what I've been wanting for 5yrs. A friend gave these to me & when I saw "him" I kept thinking I could be wrong, guess not :hit IF I could, I'd keep the Lavender pair :he

Now I even more nervous, I've got 2 LO Pullets on order from Meyer, there can be no trading due to the distance so I'm going to be doing ALOT of Praying :fl I'm sure I'd have no problem rehoming him but it seems the 2LO have bonded, always together.

Thank you all for your confirmation on what I saw :hit I was just hoping SOMEONE would say I was wrong :fl

NOOO!!!! so sorry, if I was there I would take him!!

Yes, your birds are pretty and you are correct there is at least one Lav cockerel. :love

The second Lav has more pink then I like to see in the waddles for that age. :hmm Which I do think you are close on the age guess. Compared to her brother though... give it another week or two to make sure she isn't just a late bloomer.

What a pretty and fun breed! :celebrate Looks like they are enjoying your FF. They probably don't need the paper towels, unless you are just trying to monitor poos.

Hopefully your hatchery order will come as you ordered. They are right more often than not. :fl

Thank you, the friend that gave them to me is telling me that the hatch date for the LO was April 25, that would make them 6wks :lau The BO hatch is April 16, making them 7wks :lau Someone's pulling my leg or hers

Yup been monitoring poops, always do this for a few days with new ones. I'm hoping & praying Meyer's order will be PULLETS :fl
