Age question

How do you tell how old a cockerel is? My dh bought him as a her and they said "she" was 12-18 months old, but then I learned "she" was a he, and I know he is not that old.

I have a pic somewhere, but I don't know what to post a pic of?

Can you post a picture of the entire bird? Including all of the legs all the way to the head?

Oh he looks like a youngun! Maybe 6-8 months old at best.

Nope, we have been down this road in another thread. He was bought as a hen, but I was assured he was a roo.

I would say 8-12 months, he does not have long spurs, his saddle feathers are not too long, and his tail does not look that long.

I have a New Hampshire Red that is almost a year old. (He will be in March) and he has about the same length tail, spurs, and saddle feathers. If you rooster would have yellow legs I would say he is a NHR. But he doesn't so..... I guess he's not.

Way too femaine looking of a bird to be a roo, I think. Have you heard it crow yet? It is far enough along by now to easily be to that point, and does it have spur nubs yet? If not, it's a hen

Sorry..I can't see the hen angle...I look at the photo and see nothing but cockerel?
