Aggressive Ameraucana

I have Ameracaunas, and thankfully, they are all hens. They are the sweetest, and want to be picked up and held, and have even wandered in to the house. Yours looks like it has tail feathers of a cockerel, as my girls have very small tail feathers and fluffy butts. Also, we read the articles on how to reform mean cockerels, and followed all the rules, and had to take mighty swings at a couple of roosters. Omg! I knocked one of them out! They still never gave up or gave in, and after all those attempts to train them, they still attacked my granddaughter. Those 2 went to the freezer. The one cockerel that minds his manners goes to the other side of the flock when we come in the yard. Don't wait for someone to get hurt.

Thank you all for the feedback. With all of the different ideas you guys have I’m definitely going to do what I can before I say that culling is necessary. I’m trying out holding it for long periods of time. It’s actually seeming to help so far. Pecking back and holding it down until submission just wasn’t working. I’m going to try this out for a few weeks before I make any final decisions on it as it was a pretty expensive bird. I have another BBS ameracauna that is the same age as this bird and she’s sweet as can be. I guess they’re like dogs when it comes to varying personalities. They can all be the same breed, but that doesn’t mean they will have similar personalities.
