Any ideas on what to do with a cochin bantam pullet who is acting aggressively to my boyfriend and I when we touch her or the other bantam pullet we have? They are both at laying age, but are not laying, and the one chicken pecks REALLY hard. She also pecks at the other one, but only when we put her down from holding her (which she doesn't mind). Our last two bantam hens didn't mind being held, but this cochin really hates it. She even ran across the yard to get to my boyfriend, only to peck him when he put his hand down to pet her. Is that odd, or were we just spoiled with our last pair?

Are you positive she is a hen lol J/K Anyway, I have a frizzle who does that and I seriously thought she was a roo...she mated the other hens and she CROWED. Seriously she did! She bites me every chance she gets and I just grab her and pick her up every single time. She is now better but once in a while she will throw one on us. She is laying eggs now so I KNOW she isn't a rooster LOL But I did witness her mating and crowing...very strange. Here is the SHE-DEVIL herself:

This is her "about to crow" pose lol She hasn't crowed in a LONG time now.

I have two that have sent me mad. One in particular bloodied the other one regularly if it tried to lay in the nesting box. The pecks were also very hard head shots. Then the pecking order switched when the dominant one went broody. It returned to the coop and the squawking competition and pecking has not stopped. Egg production is low and broodiness has now gone on all summer. I have two gentle giant Brahmas now to bring an end to the endless nonsense but today at 12 weeks old they got a good hiding from the aggro Cochin bantams. I'm regretting being so patient with them because it's been a long run of hassle.
