We have about 11 hens and 3 roosters. They were free range and laying so many eggs every night. Then when they started getting out of the fence we decided to put them up. We put all of the hens into one big enclosure with a rooster. They were doing fine but started producing less eggs which we expected. But then there were no eggs and we started to suspect they were eating them. So we pinned them up differently. 3 hens per rooster and one hen was by herself because they were pecking her so hard she bled. We could hear them fighting and we just found out they are fighting over eating the eggs. The 3 black hens are aggressive over eating the eggs. They will fight whatever gets in their way and it doesn’t matter what we do they will not stop until it is gone. We decided to let them out because we suspected the egg eating was from overcrowding and boredom because it started when we pinned them up. The ameraucana which is the one they pecked, we left her by herself because she was laying on an egg. And tonight, those black hens dug under the cage and ate this poor hens egg. They had tried to earlier in the day when we let her out to get some fresh grass and they tried but we stopped them. We want her to have a baby and we can tell she wants it but how can I stop these hens from being so aggressive and mean to her
