Aggressive Male Duck- Is it temporary or is there another issue?

So I have two ducks that are over a year old one male (Mika or Mikael) and one female (Yuu). In March I got two new ducklings one I am sure is a female (Shiba) due to the constant quacking that you can hear from a mile away. The other one which is a rounen (Shima), I believe, is making me question the gender because I thought it was a male because it doesnt quack much but when it does quack it isnt as husky and quiet like my older male, but rather almost as loud as my females, but like I said it doesnt quack much so still leaning toward it being male.
Recently after the younger ducks became a little over a month old my male duck started chasing and pinning down my rounen. It is not constantly every time Mika sees Shima he will attack them, but Shima has become scared and wary of Mika. Sometimes it seems like Mika is trying to mate with Shima, but i have read that is a way males fight, but the only one fighting is my older male.
Just recently it seems my older female has been wanting to lay on her nest and has become slightly aggressive, well she mainly makes a hissing face at anyone who gets close to her and her nest, so I figured it could be due to that or maybe a rut.
This is my first time owning ducks so I am still learning their mannerisms. All my ducks and chickens have a pretty decent sized fencing area with option to free-range outside of the fencing area. I have a kiddie pool that overflows into a self-made stream that creates a secondary pool where they like to dig in the mud. There is also five different shelters where they can sleep, hang out, or nest. I also have two feeding areas as well so they dont have to cross paths, but on occasion when my male sees the rounen he chases them down.

Is there a way to tell if my rounen for sure is a male or female before the 6 month mark? Is my male attacking because the rounen is male or is he trying to mate even though my young ducks are too young? He didnt seem to be attacking Shiba though he has started to chase her but cant seem to catch her and ends up nipping out some tail feathers.

The gray duck is Mika.
The black duck is Yuu.
The white duck is Shiba.
The brown duck is Shima.

When I tried introducing a new duck to my already existing trio my drake was quite aggressive towards her and would constantly try to dominate her by pinning her down to the ground and would bite at her neck and head. Then he would just stand on her like a jerk. :smack He was quite the bully. It took quite a while but they now finally all get along. How old is your Rouen? The drake curl usually starts to come in around 10 weeks or so. That is normally when they go through a molt. Feathers, feathers everywhere! If that was a male, I would expect the feathers on the head to start turning darker and green and I see no start of a white ring around the neck. This is my Rouen drake at about 14 weeks old. He hasn't fully finished his molt. Granted, this was in Oct. so we were going on in to winter. Not sure that matters or not, just letting you know for reference.

My Rouen isn't super talkative either so if it is a bolder sounding quack when it does make noise and doesn't sound raspy, it's probably female. The bill being green can be misleading. This is my female Rouen (the middle duck in the front). This pic was taken this Feb. As you can see, a dark green and black bill. She has a little orange on the sides that you can't see very well. Again, these are just for reference. Depends on how old your Rouen is?

Also I am curious to know the breeds of ducks I have. I bought them from tractor supply in their assorted straight-run batch so I don't know what breeds they are. I have tried looking it up but it seems like there are a couple different breeds they look similar to one another or maybe it was just a misleading website?

It's about 8 weeks old now I believe. I took photos of them a couple days after I first bought them for time stamp purposes.

These were taken March 15

Ok. You should know for sure within the next couple of weeks then. I am still leaning towards female but I’m not an expert. I’m just going by my personal experience. Could be that the older sexually mature drake is hormonal. It is spring time. Sounds like you’ve got a female trying to go broody on you and now he is left to his own devises. The young ones are not ready for his advances yet. They aren’t old enough. So he is being overly aggressive and dominating. That’s probably pretty close to what is going on. Is there any way that you can separate them until they are older? Back to the gender question tho. Like I said, I’m leaning female but you should definitely know within 2-3 weeks once it starts molting. Voice sexing at that age is a better indicator.

Pekin probably and a Rouen. If you luck out with 2 females I’m going to be jealous! When I got my 6, yes I said 6, ducks at TSC, I picked 3 yellow, which I assumed were Pekin and 3 that I thought were Rouen. I ended up with 1 male Rouen, 1 female Rouen, 1 female Mallard and the 3 Pekin were males. So 4 boys and 2 girls. Lol. Straight Run jinx got me.

Lol it'd be super if my rounen were female~ it was the only striped duckling left in the batch and I *NEEDED* it lol. It was too cute not to buy~ I want to let my black duck brood her eggs since there is only four and see what blue and black create, but my mom said she doesnt want any more ducks itll be fine I say she only has four eggs so might as well let her try to be a mama too since I bred my chickens and not them. I just hope my male duck doesnt produces mostly male ducklings like my rooster did with his offspring

Would you update this thread in a couple/few weeks once it becomes more clear whether or not the Rouen is a male or female? I'd love to know. :pop
