Chirping
A few a weeks ago i had to finally give up one of my roos. he was for one a non stop singer and that is not good for my small urban yard. but the main reason was because he was to aggressive with my girls. he was obviously trying to mate but he would force himself on them. ripping out their feathers and pecking them aggressively. at times i kept him away but i didnt seem to help. i already know one of my major problem one was my flock was to to small 5 girls and i had already 2 established roos. but we kept him because he was hatched in or yard. it got so bad that one of my girls ran away in the freezing cold weather. she was later returned to us but you can see her spirit was broken not to mention ill due to running away. at one point she was the top of the flock but now she at the bottom.
well since i gave him away sadly but with out little choice they seem to be a bit more relaxed. she is even laying again.
i guess my question is what can i do do help with the healing of their already damaged backs from my roo. he ripped out feather caused wounds and looks bruise. right now im keeping my most damaged girls away from the rest. cause as you know the others smell fear lol (no jk not kidding). will it just take time. i at one point kept the lost one inside to help her from her lost adventure to heal her and brought her sister in to be with her. this helped her a lot but i felt it was important to reintegrate them back maybe she wasn't ready.
advice anyone i know i have a lot going on...
