Let's not argue about whether the Bible is to be taken literally or not. Some of us believe it is, some believe it is not. Let's all just focus on our love and faith towards God and Jesus. That is the only thing that will save us in the end

Update on Rhett:

Today is 2 months on the transplant list He seems like he’s a little better with the pneumonia, but we aren’t even close to being over it yet. Hopefully he gets over it soon. They can’t accept an offer for a heart for him until he gets better. Hopefully he won’t have to wait much longer

The Holy Bible is the literal Word of God.
It is God-breathed.
Moses is not the author of Genesis, but rather he wrote it down as God gave it to Him to write. Moses merely transcribed it.
The same can be said of all of the books of the Bible and the men credited with transcribing them.
God is the Author.

John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
2 Timothy 3:16
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

Yes, the six days of creation are ACTUAL literal six days. (Genesis 1)
Jonah was literally in the belly of the whale (Jonah & Matt. 12:40)
The Flood was literally worldwide. (Genesis 6)
Yes, Jesus literally turned the water into wine. (John 2)
Jesus literally raised Lazarus from the dead. (John 11)
Jesus literally died on the cross, was buried, and rose on the third day. (the Gospels)

Jesus quotes the Old Testament when He is being tempted by Satan in the wilderness. Jesus is taking the Word literally when He quotes the OT verses. (Luke 4:1-13)

If God’s Word isn’t literal, who determines what is literal and what is not? It would be confusing.
I Corinthians 14:33
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”

Also, would that person not be putting themselves in place of God.
2 Thessalonians 2:4
“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

is this about grain or about people? (people without faith - they get lost, people with little faith - they don't last and people with faith - they earn eternal life.)
17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
as Jesus said not all people can understand.

I think we shouldn't discuss it any more as it became confusing. we come from different parts of the world and speak different languages so it is very easy for us to misunderstand.
