As for whether the trait would be carried on, some say it will; my current rooster's dad was aggressive rooster but he (the son) is completely fine around people, but I attribute that to better handling when he was young on my part. I would be careful, but if you raise the chicks to be respectful of people from the beginning you'll have better luck with temperament.
