I have a free range flock of mixed Banty's, polish, MaraNS. Total of 57. 4 are Coo Maran roos, 1 mixed roo. banty roo. All healthy, friendly and around 8 months.

I have lots of kids from different groups that come over and feed them bread. Its been very enjoyable to watch.

I have noticed some slight aggressiveness with the roos the last couple weeks...Sneaking up behind me and running into me. I carried one of them around by his legs like what was suggested on the forum..big mistake..his squawking alarmed all the roos and they came to protect, ready to attack, and a couple of them did.

Going to stop the kids coming over as I don't trust the boys anymore, and some are quite large and could really hurt a small child.

Any other recomedations besides seperating, and the soup bowl remedy?

A rooster will try to show dominance over anything even people. We have had a few roos here that have tried it and I usually just give them a swift boot. It may take a couple of times but it usually slows them right down. We have 14 roosters right now and I don't worry about my wife going in with any of them. The biggest is a Rhode Island Red and he was a bit awnry at first but after a couple of pecking order lessons he learned who was in charge and you can now pick him up and cuddle with him. If after a couple of lessons, if they don't catch on, then they go away one way or another.
