Aghhh...I killed it! Graphic embryo pics

So sorry...I know you feel awful but you've learned something and taught all of us something as well. So something good came out of something bad. God has a way like that...

Best of luck with the rest of the hatch....and keep this post going with updates! I'll be looking for it.

dont worry about it i did the same thing yesterday...it was my first time candeling and i didnt know what to look for and i thought i was seeing the yolk but it was a chick

I did realize a bright side to all this, my chicks that I haven't killed, seem to be developing normally. The one was right on target.

I've been worried about my temps varying too much, but if this little one is an indicator, things are going okay.

I started on midnight June 1 (ie very early in the morning of June 1). So the rest are due June 21-22. I figured the first of the month would make it really easy to tell what day I was on.

Glad I found this. I just did the same thing, and I feel so incredibly sorry.

I guess it's an unfortunate learning experience for us. I will never cull early again. Ever.

I hatch quail and I candle my eggs before setting to look for cracks. Once I set mine in the incubator I do not open the incubator back up until lockdown. I will candle at lockdown and remove any clears. All dark eggs stay in stay for lockdown. This way there's no chance of accidentally discarding viable eggs.

I see this is a 10 year old thread (umm when did 2008 become 10 years ago?!!?) that has recently been bumped - but as sad as accidentally culling the egg with the developing embryo was, what an incredibly sight/visual learning experience as well..
