Are males known to be aggressive towards humans? I'm asking because I had a male grab my finger hard. He held on for a good 20-30 seconds and did the whole jumping/kicking/flapping shebang that roosters do when they strike.

I was holding one of his females, but I've done that before without this result. He's 5.5 months old and he's handled rather regularly.

Are you talking about japanese quails? If so, I have had the occasional 'attack anything that moves, including your hand' from some of my males. It doesn't hurt so much as it looks ridiculous.

Kinda stinks, I did like him, but he just got switched out with a nicer male. I'm not willing to go through that again and I have more than enough males to be picky
