One of my chicks in the incubator just showed a small hole/pip!!! It is a semi-small egg and she hasn't shown a beak yet... but watching the egg like a hawk(though i'm not hankering for it lol)! Should I be ready to interfere? This is my first time hatching and I don't think I have the experience - but I don't want to lose her! What should i do? I'm a nervous wreck!!!

Be patient. It can take them quite a while to go from pipping to zipping.

Yes, be patient. She's making progress, I don't see any sign of the chick struggling at this time. Do not open that incubator. Not even when she hatches, she can be in there for up to 48 hours. Just remain patient lol

You shouldn't really consider intervention unless they are overdue or it's clear that there's an issue. If you're really impatient, it can help sometimes to play the sound of chicks chirping to encourage/cheer them on to hatch.

i had to help my chicks hatch but that was after a two days of them being stuck, they pip and make a hole and sometimes wait hours before trying again :)

It can take her 24hrs or sometimes longer after she pip’s to actually hatch. As the others said don’t interfere, just be patient. There is so need to even be ready to interfere.
