Oh my goodness I still stay up all night...and aren't those 21 days always the longest EVER!
These are the three chicks from my first hatch. We learned so much sadly at the cost of our eggs/chicks.
I had a borrowed incubator with an inconsistent hygrometer...way too moist in there.
First purchase for subsequent hatches was a good hygrometer (have gone through 2 incubators but the hygrometer is still working 100% and most hatches have all been close to that too!)

These are the same chicks at around 6 weeks old and in their new digs.

My first hatch is (thus far) my only hatch. It was so exciting!

I had a broody take care of them the first 20 days.

At day 20, I took in the 7 eggs that I thought had the greatest chance of hatching and put them in my Brinsea Mini Advance. I left the other eggs for the broody. One of the eggs I brought in had already pipped (bad me, I know!)

About 12 hours later, it started to zip, and meanwhile, another egg had pipped.

Here's the first two chicks to hatch (they had EE mom and BCM dad):

We ended up getting a total of four chicks to hatch (two pullets, two cockerels):

I gave them to my SIL, who had to sell the cockerels as she isn't allowed to have them. Before she did, I did take a picture of three of the chicks when they were a couple months old:

They are now 4 months old, and I'm anxiously awaiting news that they have started laying. I'm dying to see what color eggs they lay.

My first and last hatch :
